Welcome to the M.AB.A Model AirBoat Association M.AB.A Model AirBoat Association Radio Control Airboats. Since the Model AirBoat Association has started in 2004, the radio controlled airboat, has grown into a fun and exciting family sport. Race events have been hosted in Fl. La. And Mo. The races are normally a week end event, where families and RC air boaters gather to race rc airboats. Styles of races, The “Oval” heat race, consisting of 3 to 7 boats racing a 10 lap race. The rodeo races are races against the clock, with racers competing for the fastest time to complete 3 laps of the figure “8” or “M” courses. The boats are classed according to their size of the engine/engines, nitro engines are class “A” “B” and “C” gasoline engine classes are “G1” “G2” and “G3”. The average time to complete the races is approximately 5 minutes, with speeds of 20mph to 35mph. Even though the speeds of the airboats are slower than what is seen with water prop boats, racing requires a challenging skill level. RC airboats are no longer just a fun boat, that was built due a mishap of a airplane crash, nor is it just a beginner boat. RC Airboats have grown into a exciting family sport. What They Are About?
